Numerical Analysis of Mechanical Engineering Nonlinear Normal Modes

Abstract

In this study, we take a look back at how NNMs have progressed in terms of computational approaches 
in the recent past. Both undamped and damped NNM calculation techniques are shown, and their benefits 
and drawbacks are explored. Applications ranging from low-dimensional weakly nonlinear systems to 
high-dimensional substantially nonlinear industrial structures are used to demonstrate the approaches. 
Nonlinear normal modes, periodic orbits, invariant manifolds, and numerical continuation are some of the key 
concepts that will be covered in this article.
